Fluffies ability choice checklist

Anomaly President

A dated Anomaly President checklist for choosing Fluffies without letting support upgrades crowd out the run plan.

Quick answer

Pick the Fluffy that fixes the run problem you just lost to, not the one a tier list calls best. If your main weapons still need core upgrades, delay extra Fluffy investment; if your run already has stable damage, test one Fluffy support choice and note whether it actually changes the next boss, election, or bus-room outcome.

Checked 2026-08-20. Steam currently presents Fluffies as campaign and combat support, while a Steam community review flags that Fluffy upgrades can crowd future weapon-upgrade choices. Treat this as a choice checklist, not a permanent tier list.

Checklist

  1. Write down what ended the last run: weak weapon damage, poor survivability, missed triggers, election pressure, or an awkward bus-room choice.
  2. Read the current in-game Fluffy wording and activation condition before using an old screenshot or tier list.
  3. If weapon damage is still behind, take the direct weapon or power upgrade first and leave Fluffy upgrades for a later reward screen.
  4. If damage is already stable, choose one Fluffy support role and test whether it changes the next boss, wave, or campaign decision.
  5. Avoid stacking several new Fluffies at once; it becomes harder to tell which support choice helped or diluted future upgrades.
  6. Record the build date, chosen Fluffy, and result before treating the choice as repeatable.

Do not do this

  • Do not install mods, trainers, DLL files, or save editors to force a Fluffy outcome.
  • Do not follow a tier list that hides its patch date or does not mention activation conditions.
  • Do not assume every Fluffy pickup is automatically better than a direct weapon upgrade.
  • Do not claim a permanent best Fluffy while the game is still changing through early-access updates.
